Each year at EA we have a thanksgiving potluck. You know, everyone brings something, we eat too much, have to undo our pants buttons to sit through the afternoon. Fall asleep at our... er... NOT fall asleep at our desks.
But at EA everything just has to be a little more... quirky. Everyone adds their own special spark to the mix. So at today's potluck, in addition to all the usual suspects (turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry, pumpkin pie) we had all of the following:
Sushi
Potato Latkes
Indian food
Hummus
Spinach Walnut something-or-other
Tofu cheesecake
Lesbian Pea Salad
Butternut squash lasagna (oh my gosh it was unbelievable)
Approximately 15 other desserts including breadpudding with bourbon in it, upside-down cake, cupcakes, strawberry/jello/pretzel yummyness, and carrot cake
And perhaps the most unique and special contribute, from none other than Jesse himself, for the second year in a row: White Castle. Yes, 30 little mini hamburgers in a little box, for our eating pleasure. We made it halfway through lunch until Jesse and Jon decided that the next competition would be a White Castle eating contest. They would buy 100 and see who could eat the most in a set amount of time.
Ah, EA, how I love thee. I give thanks today, not only for a great potluck, but for an entire week's worth of leftovers. And for the ability to start stretching out my stomach in preparation for Thursday at home. Mmmmm food. Life is good.
