What's On The Menu

I LOVE that school is back in session because that means I have loads of opportunities to host various groups of students (and non-students) for dinners. I love being able to offer hospitality and love and yummy food to people who are far away from home, may not know how to cook very well, and/or are really too busy to cook all that often. Last week I had four dinners with various friends and here were the menus. About half of these were new recipes that I was trying for the first time (dangerous, I know). I LOVE experimenting and having people to experiment on! I also love that it's fall and I can cook all kinds of yummy soups, "comfort" foods, and all things pumpkin/nutmeg/cloves/squash/cinnamon.

Tuesday
Cheddared Broccoli Soup
Potato, Sweet Italian Sausage, and Mushroom Salad
Shoe-fly Cake

Thursday
Maple Butternut-Squash Soup
Shepherd's Pie
Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Friday
Sweet and Sour Chicken
Cold Sesame Noodles
Oreo Cheesecake

Saturday
Pasta with a Chicken and Mixed Vegetable Tomato Sauce

I have to admit that four dinner parties in one week is not a usual week. And it's also way too much. I was definitely a big over-eager to see so many people that I overextended myself a bit. Even so, it was a lot of fun, and I am thrilled to be able to serve the international community of Iasi in this way. I'll leave you with a few pictures of some of the week's creations.
